About Belhurst Castle and Winery

Belhurst Castle and Winery is a historic resort set on the western shore of Seneca Lake in Geneva, in the heart of New York's Finger Lakes wine country. The Richardsonian Romanesque castle was designed by the firm Fuller & Wheeler and built in the late 1880s, and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Over its long life the property has served as a private residence and, during Prohibition, a speakeasy, casino, and supper club before becoming the lakeside destination it is today.

The estate now operates as a full resort with three lodging options — Chambers in the Castle, the Vinifera Inn, and White Springs Manor — along with two restaurants (Edgar's Restaurant in the Castle and Stonecutter's Tavern), the Isabella Spa-Salon, and two ballrooms for weddings and events. At its center is the Belhurst Estate Winery and gift shop, where a relaxed tasting room overlooks the lake.

Belhurst's winemakers produce a wide range of award-winning wines that have collected hundreds of medals in competitions, spanning dry and semi-sweet whites, reds, rosés, sparkling wines, and dessert styles. The tasting room also pours the property's own Mabel's Oat Soda Co. craft beer and hard cider, and the staff guides guests through wine, beer, cider, and specialty wine-and-cheese or wine-and-chocolate flights daily.
