About The Apple Station Winery

The Apple Station Winery is a family-owned orchard, country store, and winery sitting just outside the village of Union Springs at the north end of Cayuga Lake. The family planted the orchard in 1986 and began selling apples four years later; the winery opened in 2010, with the banquet hall added the following year. The result is an operation that reads as much like a working farm stand as a tasting room.

The tasting room leans hard into a vintage filling-station theme, with old gas pumps, garage signage, and farm machinery outside and adorning the walls within. The pour list is built around the orchard: apple wines, apple-and-fruit blends, several grape wines including Riesling, and hard ciders, with a small run of spirits alongside. The adjoining store stocks fresh apples, sweet cider, apple cider donuts, New York State cheeses, jams and jellies, maple syrup, local honey, and seasonal fall produce.

Beyond the tasting bar, visitors can pick apples in the orchard during the fall season or picnic on the grounds. The banquet hall hosts weddings and large gatherings, with outdoor ceremony space overlooking the orchard rows and an indoor reception room with room for a dance floor and live music. The winery keeps a Friday-through-Sunday schedule, with private tastings and event bookings arranged directly by phone.
