About Kemmeter Wines

Kemmeter Wines is a small boutique winery established in 2013 by Johannes and Imelda Reinhardt on the west side of Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Johannes was born into a family of farmers, grape growers, and winemakers in Franconia (Bavaria), Germany, and spent years as the winemaker at Anthony Road Wine Company before founding his own estate. The couple planted their own vineyards in 2014 and 2016 on their 20-acre property, and from the 2018 vintage forward all wines have been grown entirely on the estate.

The winery's vision is to offer wines that reflect the land being cultivated and allow the fruit to express itself in its purest, most authentic form. Wines are released under three labels: Sonero (light, refreshing wines including a Riesling and a Rosé of Pinot Noir), Kemmeter (the estate's core wines showing freshness, structure, and elegance with 10–15 years of cellaring potential), and SanSan (rare highlights reserved for the best growing seasons, built to age up to two decades).

Wine tastings are intimate, hour-long, appointment-only experiences hosted personally by Johannes, with the tasting fee collected as a free-will donation supporting an orphanage. The property is also home to Sans Dumplings, Imelda's take-out dumpling kitchen operated from a separate building, with a few picnic tables on site for guests. Well-behaved dogs are welcome at tastings.

Sans Dumplings (Asian / Dumplings (take-out))

Sans Dumplings is a take-out dumpling kitchen run by co-owner Imelda Reinhardt, located in a separate building on the Kemmeter Wines property. Customers can walk in or call in orders, and dumplings are cooked fresh right before pickup. A few first-come, first-served picnic tables are available on site. Note: dumplings are not served during wine tastings, and food-and-wine pairings are not currently offered.
